Although I can't, I can learn it (do not use it in the workplace)

There is a saying that I often hear to share with you. When someone is often competing or interviewing, when the appraiser asks: You don't have the skills we need for your current position, or you don't have the work experience we need, how would you answer?

I guess most people will say: Although I can't now, but I can learn. In fact, I don't know that I just committed a major taboo in the workplace, and the interviewer does not like this answer.

Many people feel that this answer at this time is more advantageous or more intelligent, and they can cleverly cover their shortcomings. Maybe some people are quite confident in their learning ability (the author used to be the same), and think that as long as they identify one thing or undertake a certain job, they can be sure that they can learn and use it proficiently in the shortest time, and complete the task with high quality on time. . However, this answer is just out of place in front of the interviewer, and it is easy to be regarded as an excuse for your incompetence, a kind of prudence, and cleverness.

And after thinking about it, I think this is still very problematic. And this sentence will just touch the examiner's dissatisfaction or even disgust with you. Because the other person will think that if you can learn, you should have learned it long ago. Why didn't you prepare well in advance when you came here for the interview? The other party will not give you time to learn, because he immediately wants you to use this skill to benefit. If you still need some time to learn, should the other party think more about the cost of this time? Therefore, in the face of the interviewer's questions, if you really do not have a certain skill or a certain work experience, don't say that you can't learn it.

In fact, over the years of work, most of us can confidently say that my strength is learning, and what I am best at is learning. Because after coming out of school, the first thing we face is to learn and adapt to the new work environment, find our own work ideas, methods and paths, and then gradually become proficient in it. With the accumulation of work experience over the years, we have fully adapted to it. Accept tasks that you are not familiar with at any time. No matter what new problems, new difficulties, or new things I encounter, as long as I get started, I will get used to it very quickly, I will integrate it very quickly, and I will soon be able to do it with ease. But don't be so straightforward with your interviewer.

Like I said just now, the examiner will not give you time to study, next time you should say this, I may not be familiar with this skill, but I am confident that after I take over, I will guarantee that within a limited time (one week) within one week) to complete the task. Of course, you can't just say this empty phrase. Let me give an example: I have dealt with similar tasks, and how I completed tasks that I am not familiar with within the specified time. At the same time, express your own preparations, work ideas, short-term and long-term goals, and expected results for the work. Finally, tell the interviewer generously and confidently that although I currently do not have this skill, I have skills that others do not have. more suitable!
