The harder you work, the worse it gets? Check out these ways to think

Recently, I chatted with a friend who is a designer. In the past two years, the market environment has not been very good, and their business has decreased a lot, so he took his life to pick up the work.

It seems to be more work than before, but the effect is not good. Seeing that people are busy, but the actual benefit has not improved much.

He always said that now he can't pick jobs, and some jobs are good. Precisely because of this choice, he recently gave up a few good-quality jobs because he had too many ordinary jobs ahead of him. He was very entangled.

Whether to focus on high-quality work or take on anything to get through this difficult time.

In fact, this is the problem of goal thinking often encountered in the workplace. I only think of a headache and a foot pain. Blind efforts, and finally found that the harder the worse.

People are accustomed to looking at problems with direct solutions, without analyzing the deeper reasons behind the problem. Daily simple things like eating when you are hungry, and adding clothes when you are cold are completely fine, but when it comes to complicated situations in the workplace, it will not work. Blind efforts without a clear analysis will only make the situation worse and worse.

Today, I will share with you several thinking methods that are used in daily life. Using these tips in our daily work can avoid ineffective efforts and prevent deviations in our work.

First, analyze the disadvantages. Everyone will have shortcomings, no one is omnipotent, and people will have more or less defects of one kind or another.

For example, some people are good at communicating with customers, have very strong sales skills, and will always be the sales champions in the department, but they are weak in statistical analysis of data, and another colleague is really the opposite.

This is to ask yourself to analyze your own weaknesses and strengths clearly, make use of your strengths and circumvent weaknesses, and not blindly stare at your own shortcomings.

Second, learn to think backwards. For example, when you had two projects for you to choose from a few years ago, the advantages and disadvantages of these two projects are very obvious. If you choose one, you will lose the other, and the situation will never allow you to do both. How should you choose?

I believe that everyone will be very entangled in the face of such a choice, and they are not willing to lose the advantages of the two projects. At this time, it is necessary to use reverse thinking. You should not only focus on the advantages, but also what will you lose? Giving up the one of the two that we can relatively accept to lose is not a new idea, a new method, and it will not be wandering in a dead end all the time.

Third, change the definition of the problem. Like the example at the beginning of the article, it makes a big difference whether you have no projects to do or no good projects to do.

Your ultimate goal is to have a project to do, or to pursue a high-quality project. This will determine your current work direction and work content, whether it will make you more confused the harder you work, or whether your work will gradually improve.

For example, if there is a quarrel in daily work, it is better to stop and re-look at the problem. You may find that your differences are not very big, which makes your quarrel meaningless.

Finally, if you find that your work is in a quagmire, and the more you struggle, the more you sink, it is better to stop and analyze and start again.
