Among the young and middle-aged groups, more than 40% of domestic enterprises use flexible employment. The "2019 China Flexible Employment Development White Paper" recently released by Zhengde Group shows that sales, technology, and customer service are the three most flexible employment positions in Chinese enterprises.

Men are more willing than women to try flexible working

According to the data of the white paper, only over 10% of the employees said they "don't understand" about flexible employment, while 91.8% said they were "willing to try jobs with flexible employment".

Employees of different genders show significant differences in their willingness to try flexible employment positions. Among them, 95.3% of male employees are "willing to try flexible employment positions", while the proportion of female employees is 87.4%.

Over 70% of employees want "flexible working hours"

The white paper shows that the improvement of employees' awareness and acceptance of flexible employment is driven by many factors, the most representative of which are the changes in employment concepts of the new generation of employees represented by "Generation Z" and the sharing economy. It is driven by emerging industries represented, as well as the influence of the growing development and regulation of the flexible employment service industry.

At present, the "Generation Z" entering the workplace are mainly "post-95s". They work tirelessly and actively in the workplace, and regard "hard work" and "reliability" as their requirements and standards. It is reflected in the job search in the workplace. They pay more attention to their hobbies and aspirations, pay more attention to work flexibility, and are willing to choose to work in a more free way.

The white paper shows that employees who expressed "willingness to try flexible employment positions" expressed more expectations for the job elements of flexible employment. Among them, 73.6% of employees listed "flexible working hours" as their first choice, followed by "Good salary and benefits" 66.3%, "favorite industry or position" 56.9%.

Benefiting from the rapid development of flexible employment in 2019, employees are optimistic about the development trend of flexible employment. According to the white paper, 32.9% of employees believe that flexible employment is "the general trend and will develop rapidly", and more employees are cautiously optimistic about this. , 49.8% of employees think it is "a trend, but it will not develop very quickly".

Sales, technology and customer service have the most flexible employment

The white paper shows that more jobs that enterprises choose flexible employment are concentrated in "sales positions", "technical positions" and "customer service positions", accounting for 42.5%, 29% and 28.5% of the proportion of enterprises that have adopted flexible employment.

Enterprises in different industries have great differences in employee structure and employment system due to business differences. For example, 83.3% of enterprises in the catering industry choose flexible employment positions as "store clerk positions". There are also trade/retail, entertainment/leisure, hotel/tourism and other industries. In the "customer service position", industries with more flexible employment are selected, in addition to banking, there are also Internet/e-commerce, communication/network, Internet finance and other industries. For industries such as computer software/hardware, electronic technology/semiconductor, manufacturing/automotive, etc., which require a large amount of labor for technicians, more "technical positions" are chosen as flexible employment positions.

Different types of enterprises have obvious differences in the choice of flexible employment positions. For example, individual industrial and commercial households choose the most flexible employment positions are "financial positions", foreign-funded enterprises choose the most flexible employment positions are "customer service positions", and joint ventures and private enterprises choose The position with the most flexible employment is "sales position", while the proportion of flexible employment in state-owned enterprises in "sales position" and "customer service position" is the same.

Enterprises at different stages of development also choose flexible employment in different positions, but as a whole, the proportion of flexible employment in "sales positions" is the highest among companies in all stages of development. In addition, enterprises in the mature and expansion period still choose flexible employment in "technical positions", while long-term enterprises choose flexible employment in "customer service positions".
