Recently, Musk's humanoid robot "Optimus Prime" has received a lot of attention. Of course, in addition to Musk, other technology giants have also entered the humanoid robot.

For example, Dyson, which "out of the circle" with home appliances, has also entered the field of humanoid robots. Currently, it has released a robotic arm that can pick up bleach and pick up plates. Dyson's vision is to have humanoid robots that can do housework within the next 10 years.

Another example is the CyberOne, a full-scale bionic humanoid robot previously announced by Xiaomi. Moreover, Xiaomi's new release of this humanoid robot is indeed quite decent, not only the appearance, but also all aspects of its components indeed meet the requirements of humanoid robots. Regardless of the speed of action, the grip strength, the outstanding interaction ability and the recognition and judgment of the environmental semantics by the AI algorithm, it can be seen that this CyberOne is more oriented/serving to people themselves.

So why is there so much interest in developing humanoid robots when there are already so many alien robots out there? After all, compared to humanoid robots, alien robots have already begun to realize commercialization.

Boston Dynamics' Spot has begun mass production and has been put into use in fields such as freight, mountain transportation, and disaster relief. Sony's companion robot robot dog AIBO has also been resurrected in Japan, began to provide companionship services to the crowd, and began to emerge in the medical and other industries.

These alien robots are also equipped with an operating system with a high degree of AI, which can autonomously accept commands from users and complete corresponding charges. At the same time, in different application scenarios, these alien robots can also be transformed into different shapes at will, which are more adaptable to different environments than humanoids. Various bionic parts allow them to travel in different scenes such as the air, mountains and oceans like animals.

For this, Musk's purpose is also very simple, that is, to act as a labor force. Musk has emphasized more than once that one of the biggest risks facing human civilization is the shortage of manpower, and humans should focus their energy on mental work rather than manual work. The appearance of the Optimus Prime humanoid robot is actually to free human beings from simple and heavy manual labor.

To be satisfied, however, requires adapting robots to our human lives. Because our society is designed according to human beings, and a robot like human beings can meet this condition very well. Humanoid robots can respond to our society in order to achieve the most efficient labor force. The era of robots will eventually come. For us, the more important thing at present is to understand the progress and update of science and technology, and how to coexist with robots may also be the problems we need to face next.
