In most people's work, they will encounter the problem of reporting work and sharing information with their leaders. Maybe, you are also worried about what should be said to the leader and what should not be said.

You may have heard many times that within the company, between superiors and subordinates, it is necessary to communicate in a timely manner, to know everything, to say everything, to share information, and to make decisions together.

But in fact, this is neither possible nor necessary, more like a beautiful vision or a polite word.

If the leader asks all subordinates to report everything without details, then these two will not be able to work, and the leader will be overwhelmed by various forms of reports from subordinates, not to mention his own work such as decision-making and management. .

As a subordinate, before reporting work, what needs to be reported and what is not bothered by the leader, there is a trade-off, usually:

The first is to try to report only the results, not the process.

It is necessary to remove those information that has not yet been determined, so as not to change every day, making the boss feel that he is "insecure", and to prevent the boss from intervening prematurely, making him a dilemma. Besides, in most things, the leader cares more about the result, and it can even be said that many He just wanted to know the result, and the leaders didn't care about the specific details;

The second is to control risks and keep the difficulty of your work at a level you can handle. Maybe, you have experienced that due to the lack of control of the content of the report, the development of things has exceeded the controllable scope of yourself or the team, and the final result is not satisfactory. When reporting to the leader, control the risks, usually Both are fine.

On the surface, leaders have great power, but in fact, there is still a balance of power between leaders and subordinates. Specifically, subordinates have the "right to advise" and can legally exercise "information control"; leaders have the "right to make decisions". , but in order to avoid too much centralization, there is usually only a limited choice of options offered by subordinates.

However, as a subordinate, there are two points to pay attention to;

One, do not deceive. Part of the information can be properly filtered and not reported to the leader, but no malicious deceptive behavior occurs.

Second, important things, do not deliberately hide.
