The career planning in books seems to be unrealistic. What is the real career planning?

I developed from Heilongjiang to Beijing, a first-tier city. Let me tell you about my career development process. I hope I can give you some lessons.

When I was in college, I majored in computer science. I like to pursue new things. Computers and the Internet can arouse my interest and enthusiasm. Whether it’s playing games with roommates in a university group, or working part-time at an Internet cafe to earn extra money, or repairing computers for university teachers, or making financial software for graduation projects… I’m more and more certain that this is the career I want to pursue in the future.

University is all about trial and error to find your career direction.

In fact, I was optimistic about the development of the Internet and wanted to be a programmer, so I started to buy books and teach myself. But I've been working behind closed doors. I don't know if I can go to Beidri at my level. After all, my university is not very good.

Three months before graduating from university, I decided to go to Beijing to have a look. Back then, I still had to go to the talent market to find a job, unlike now I can submit my resume online. As a result, when I was in the Zhongguancun talent market, I saw a job posting that recruited UNIX experts with a basic salary of 5,000. That was in 2001!

It's a pity... I don't know it at all... Later, I went to Xidan Book Building to buy two UNIX books, came back for three months, got my diploma, and went straight to Beijing...

Although the job I found later did not have a monthly salary of 5,000, it started my career.

Don't just get knowledge in books, look for directions in reality.

The first job, I did it for two years, it was a small company, but I completed the original accumulation of technology. The second company, I want to find a big company, where I can learn deeper technology and get in touch with the management of a big company, I went to a Hong Kong company listed in the United States...

Eight months later, I became a department manager. At most, I managed a team of more than 40 people.

Three years have passed in this way, and the work is easy and familiar, but I am getting more and more uneasy. This job is too comfortable, and I am afraid of being boiled by warm water.

Don't enjoy the easy days when you are young, you will make progress if you keep going up.

I jumped ship again and came to a cutting-edge Internet company. They had a project but was in charge and had a lot of freedom.

I became the technical director of the project and was solely responsible for the operation of the entire project. I want to challenge myself, from project establishment to running cooperation, from team formation to talking about customers... The team has grown slowly from two people. I have worked in this company for another three years. When I left, this project was already number one in China. .

Challenge yourself, find a bigger platform, a higher position, and experience yourself in order to grow.

My fourth job, which is my career so far, is doing business with friends. At that time, we saw a business opportunity, which was still a blue ocean, and we were familiar enough with this field. After years of work, we had accumulated a start-up capital that would not die even if we lost it, so... we jumped down to this day.

Although he is not rich yet, he is still doing something he likes and has a sense of accomplishment. He is still on the road and working hard.

Career planning, you can have a big idea, but you must think about the next step in front of you. Don't wait for the parabola to drop before you want to change, and it's over. When there is a trend of falling, take action.

Career planning is not static. You have to adapt to the opportunities and resources you get in the society, so that you can adapt to changes!
