Factory work experience: If I could re-select my first job, I would definitely not choose a factory!

If I had a choice, I would definitely not choose to work in a factory!

01

I worked in a factory right after graduation. After I couldn't stand the torture of night shifts, I finally wanted to quit my job and find a job without night shifts, but after I came out, I found that I only had work experience in a factory. I wanted to do other jobs, but I didn't have work experience doing other jobs, and I interviewed many places and they didn't accept me. At this point, I started to struggle again. If I didn't go to work in the factory, my food, drink, and housing problems would not be solved. Of course, this is not the most important thing. The most important thing is that you have already started to work at this time, and you cannot easily ask for money from your family. Because when you told your family that you were working, you told them proudly that you worked in a Fortune 500 foreign company, and your family would definitely think that you are working well now, maybe they are with some neighbors When chatting and bragging, they have long told others that their son is now working in a Fortune 500 company.

Yes, when I walked out of the school gate and entered this company, many students really envied me, and many teachers thought that we would have a bright future in the future, but only oneself knew what the final result would be.

Later, I could only look for a factory-related job. At that time, I was lucky because my English was not bad before. I spent a lot of time studying English in college for a few years. My English just passed CET 4, but I didn't expect this skill to become my advantage at that time. Since the company I was interviewing for was still a Fortune 500 US-funded company, during the interview, the personnel of that company asked me to introduce myself in English, and then they gave me a lot of English materials for me to go to. Look, and also let me translate a few paragraphs in it. Since I was not long after graduation, I still remember many words and sentences. So in the face of the information they gave, I quickly translated it. And through the oral communication in English, they also think that my spoken language is not bad, so after a period of interview, the first impression of the company's personnel on me is not bad. Next, they asked me some knowledge and business about production management. To be honest, I have not done any work related to production management before, but because when I participated in the training before, the company told us something about the production line. The theoretical knowledge of management, coupled with the fact that I have a period of grass-roots practical experience, so when I participated in the interview, I combined my work experience and some theoretical knowledge to answer the questions raised by the interviewer. Of course, after answering these questions, I gave myself a score of 60, and I think my answer should be okay. Later, after the interview, the interviewer told me that he thought my performance was not bad today, but their company's final decision on this management position still needs to be decided by their production manager, so after he goes back , will have their production manager contact me again.

Then I waited at home for two days. In the afternoon of the next day, a strange number suddenly called me. He first talked about the interview situation, and then he briefly introduced himself and started a phone interview with me. During the interview, he not only asked me some professional knowledge and skills about production management, but also asked about my English level and my hobbies. Of course, I answered these questions honestly. he. After listening to this, I could feel from his tone that he was still quite satisfied with me. Later, he directly told me that on Monday next week, let me go directly to their company to work.

To be honest, from a technician who was engaged in equipment maintenance and repair before suddenly switching to a job in production management, I was still a little uncomfortable at the beginning. First, I have no personal experience with production management, so I need a period of adjustment and adaptation. At the same time, since my last job was not a manager but a grass-roots executor, so now I am suddenly asked to manage a few people, I really feel a little uncomfortable. But then I thought about it, since I have come here, I will be safe. Since I have chosen this job now, I must do it well. So then I started to continuously learn knowledge and skills about this job. After a closer look, I realized that this job requires me to learn too much. Now I not only need to learn a lot of English knowledge, but also I need to quickly master the company's production business and production process, in addition, I also need to learn some communication and communication skills, because at my age, around Many people are older than me, they are all veterans in the workplace, and I often need to deal with those people, so in order to better communicate and communicate with them at this time, for me, I have to put myself Put it on the same channel as others, and the only way I can change the status quo is to keep learning, keep learning from other people's cases, and then apply what I've learned to my current work. go.

Later, when I was working in that factory, I finally didn’t have to go to three shifts. Maybe sometimes I would work overtime to accompany the workers to catch up with the schedule, but this is rarely the case. Now this job is relatively easy compared to my previous job. Now that I do this job, I have less physical work and more mental work. So in the following period, whether I work overtime or not, I have to study for two or three hours every night, especially during the period when I am about to become a regular, I have to study at 12 o'clock almost every night. At that time, I kept summarizing the production process and production business in the company. I kept practicing my English speaking and writing skills, and at the same time, I kept summarizing my recent work.

By forcing myself to study like this, I found that I improved very quickly during this time. Afterwards, I finally got it right. After the regularization, an obvious advantage is that my salary has increased by a few hundred dollars compared with the previous one, and I can finally take charge of a production line by myself. Of course, after this, I also made a schedule and schedule for myself, and I planned my day in detail. These plans include meetings, inspections of production lines, employee communication and exchanges, handling of special matters, communication and exchanges with sibling departments, and working together to solve problems. Through reasonable scheduling and strong execution, I managed that production line well, and the productivity of the production line has been soaring. After seeing these achievements, the leader increased the workload for me, and he arranged two more production lines for me. Of course, in this situation, I deeply know that to do this thing well, I need to put in more effort. So I directly copied the previous successful experience to the management of the other two production lines. However, when I completely copied the previous successful experience, I found that the previous successful experience is not particularly useful in other production lines. After all, the personnel and production process of each production line are a bit different. If I It's just a complete copy, which will inevitably bring a lot of rejection. In order to solve this problem, I immediately called all the managers of each production line together and had a short meeting with them, and I wanted to listen to their suggestions. After listening to their suggestions, I found that the managers of each production line have different personalities and characteristics, and the way they manage employees is also different. And the personality and characteristics of the managers of each production line will affect some of the performance of their production line employees. For example, some managers are more powerful, so their bottom-level employees are also more powerful, and they can do things without admitting defeat. So in the face of this kind of team, if you manage them with some flexible management methods, the management effect at that time is not very good, and their entire team will gradually sink like a mess of sand; on the contrary, the face For some teams who are used to flexible management, because they are used to the management methods of their managers, you need to encourage them with some nice and inspiring words. If you use some coercive methods to manage them at this time, they will suddenly be unable to bear it, and sometimes they will even fight against you. At this time, as a manager, you will encounter a lot of trouble.

Through this simple matter, I also really felt the truth of what is called "water can carry a boat, and it can also capsize".

After going through these issues, I feel that I should manage them differently for different teams. At the same time, I have to learn to delegate power. I have to let the right people manage the right team. Only in this way can they maximize the value of the team. At the same time, for each team member, they can truly exert their greatest value.

After managing employees in this way, I found that the effect of managing employees in this way is very good. Of course, in order to make the teams better cooperate, I also proposed a lot of incentive policies. I want to let my teams compete internally, and regularly evaluate the first place among the three production lines through internal competition, and then For the first place in the team, every time we will take a part of the funds from the application to give to such a team. At the same time, I also buy some small gifts for the managers of the team. The benefit of this is that there is competition and oversight between teams so they can do better when they do their jobs.

Of course, as a manager, it would be better if you have other hobbies or specialties, which will be of great help to your long-term development. Because influence is a kind of behavior to win people's hearts, if you have other hobbies, such as your singing well, your basketball playing well, your calligraphy writing well, your show hosting well, etc., These will add points to your management. Especially when you choose a suitable opportunity to bring out these specialties, many young people will say, wow, their leaders are so capable, he has so many skills! This will invisibly improve your position in the minds of employees. After you have a certain influence in the minds of employees, you will manage them and communicate with them. You will find that , their attitude and tone towards you will be completely different from before, and they are more willing to obey your management.

That was how I was at the time, I knew I had other talents and strengths, so I just chose the right time to show those strengths. Since then, many young people's views on me have changed at once. Of course, when I manage them in the future, I will also show more confidence, and this confidence is given by myself, so it is also special to use. smoothly.

Later, after doing production management for a period of time, I found that I was a little tired of the intrigue relationship in the factory, so I wanted to choose a suitable time to go to other places to have a look and find other possibility. Of course, at this time, the same problem as before appeared again. Since I have been working in the factory, what can I do now even if I go out? Later, I checked and thought about it. The only thing I can do is to continue working in the factory. If I can do other work, then I will go to a training course to train for a period of time, and then transfer to another one. industry to do it. Or, I will find a sales position with a lower threshold to be a grassroots salesperson.

My first job was in a factory. The factory gave me a lot of opportunities to train myself, and at the same time, the experience in the factory also limited my development to a certain extent. If I had to choose a job again, I would definitely not choose a factory when I chose my first job.
