If you report work like this, your boss will definitely value you.

Is reporting that difficult?

To put it bluntly, more than 80% of professionals in the workplace are unqualified, and even many high-level professionals in the workplace.

Jack, yes, the famous former president of GE, the author of the best-selling book "Win", which was widely known in foreign companies at that time.

GE built by Jack Welch has influenced many Chinese companies, including Alibaba, which is flourishing today.

Jack came up with the "five PPT strategy formulation", not the extremely complex strategy formulation process that many people learn in business school strategy courses, nor the result of at least hundreds of pages of material presented by consulting firms. This is exactly the same as the work report I want to talk about today.

An important work report, whether it is 1-to-1 or 1-to-many. The key should not only focus on the final presentation, the starting point should start with the preparation of written presentation materials, and the core of written presentation materials is to build a framework.

Generally speaking, the key to a good film and television drama is not only the acting skills of the actors, but also a good script.

As far as reporting materials and scripts are concerned, the two are different. The former focuses on framework and logic, while the latter focuses more on dramatic conflicts and details.

The former focuses on the main dish, while the latter requires both side dishes and desserts, and is even more important. To give a simple example, "Ode to Joy 2" Ying Qin's view of the virginity has aroused a great discussion among the whole people.

Closer to home. A good presentation begins with the preparation of written presentation materials. Good written materials depend on the usual accumulation, focusing on a large amount of intensive input, with input leading to output.

One of my top 500 executive friends, a report of dozens of minutes, usually read hundreds of pages of materials, and then make dozens of pages of PPT, and then continue to drill and revise, and reduce it to less than 10 pages. PPT.

Finally, organize the core conclusions into a 1-page PPT.

The final presentation is generally between 5 and 30 minutes depending on the situation. If the other party needs more information, it is also prepared by the side, ready to take out, even if the meeting is extended for several hours, there are materials that can be presented.

The basic idea is as follows:

·

Goal: 5-30 minute debriefing

·

·

Action: high-intensity, routine input (according to the difficulty and proficiency of the report content, the following is not completely applicable, the basic ideas are the same )

·

In terms of written presentation materials (scripts), the core is the presentation material on the last page, which is also emphasized by many world-class companies that can be explained on one page instead of a second page.

So the question is, what content does this 1 page present?

Differentiate according to the content of the report. Let me give an example to illustrate that if it is a problem-solving-centric report, the proposed framework can take:

1: Background (optional)

2: Problems

3: Suggested scheme (can have Plan B)

4: Implementation steps (including personnel and budget, etc.)

5: Next Action Plan (optional)

After getting the script, let’s take a problem-solving-centric report as an example. We can first send it to our superiors by e-mail, etc., and then we will report orally.

In fact, if this one-page report is done well, even verbal communication is not an option, and it is not uncommon for the superior to directly approve "agree".
