The difference between you and your dream is not only action, but also planning

More than two months have passed since the first five years after graduation. There is one particularly important thing that I have been putting off. Because it is too important, I always want to find the most ideal and best time to do it. This thing is to look back on the course of the past five years and plan for the next five years of life.

Looking back on the past five years, I want to see clearly, what is the context of this journey? Which are the turning points? Which ones are right? Which can be avoided? The purpose is to help us better plan for the next five years. And thinking about what kind of person you want to be in five years, you can plan the direction and things to do in the next five years.

Why is the planning period five years? Two years and three years are too short, and eight years and ten years are too variable for you to see clearly. Five years usually pass the "next phase" of life and into the next phase. After all, it often takes less than five years from falling in love to getting married and having children...

There is a sentence in the book "Jiangjin: How to Be a Great Person" written by Zhihu Big V that impressed me - "How a person treats his time determines what kind of person he can become."

How to deal with time is inseparable from our staged life planning. The monthly, weekly, and annual plans we make are our attitude toward time. In fact, we can't plan our own life, what we can plan is our own time.

There is a saying that "a life without a plan is not worth living". It's true that there is a big difference between a life with a plan and a life without a plan. People with self-planning have a much stronger sense of control over the present and the future, and are more likely to move closer to their ideal goals. I would like to speak from my own personal experience.

Take a look at your past 5 years.

Joined a real estate company in July 2012

Moved to a bigger real estate company in May 2014

Buy a house in October 2014

From November 2014 to January 2015, he left to recuperate at home and started running

February-April 2015 to prepare for the exam and take the civil service exam

May 2015 - now working in a sports tourism company and successfully changed careers

Buying a car in October 2015

Married in December 2016

Now I'm a mom-to-be

When I graduated in 2012, my boyfriend and I were both poor and poor. Our plan was to buy a house and a car within three years, and then get married. Based on the above analysis, this goal is basically achieved.

But in terms of career planning, I only really started in 2015. Before that, I was working a job that I didn't like and that was painful most of the time.

There is an obvious fault in my work resume: in November 2014, due to working overtime in the real estate for a long time and the accumulated mental pressure, I had a serious illness, my body and spirit collapsed, and I was unable to work, so I had to Resign. During that time, I felt extremely dark, confused and anxious. Later, I tried to take the civil service exam, but luckily I didn’t get it (because I didn’t really want to be a civil servant, it was just a temporary measure).

During preparation for the exam, in order to improve my physical and mental state, I started running every day, 6-10 kilometers each time, and I fell in love with running ever since. After failing the exam I started looking for a job. In May 2015, I joined a sports tourism company and engaged in work related to running, and my previous work experience in real estate was not in vain.

Since changing careers, I have only really realized what it is like to do a job that suits me and I like it. I live a full and happy life every day, I have time to cultivate my hobbies, and I also have time to travel to the places I want to go, not to make a hard money.

I started planning my time, making myself a dream list every year. In 2015, I started to develop the habit of reading. In 2016, I started to learn to write, and I have to write reading notes when I read a good book. In 2017, I started to practice body, mind and Buddhist studies, and I also started to earn some extra money by writing. Next, I hope to build a personal brand in my area of expertise, while increasing my knowledge of psychology and parenting.

Regarding the rhythm of life, when to get married, when to have children, when to be fast, and when to be slow, I started to think and plan, all of which are carried out at my own pace, this sense of control over time makes people feel Calm and fulfilling.

That is to say, since 2015, I have only begun to have a phased plan for my life and career. And these plans and actions slowly stack up a rich life and self-advantage. The quality of life is completely different from the life that had not been planned before.

If you want to get out of the life you want to do something worthwhile, it is necessary to set a long-term goal for yourself over a five-year period and make a lasting and solid effort to it. At the same time, you also need to think carefully: how to complete the forging of personal core competitiveness through life increments bit by bit.

Mi Meng once said in the article, "When I was a reporter before, I interviewed many, many people, and the most real feeling is: the most popular and powerful people in each industry, talents, efforts, connections, methods, at least one of them There are strong points, and there are basically no exceptions.”

A truly powerful person can sink his heart to forge a powerful excellence for a period of five years. Because the time is long enough, I will not be impatient and impatient; because I have a long-term goal, I will not be short-sighted and confused.

So, how do you plan your next five years? Think about who you want to be in five years. Ask yourself five years from now: Think about what you will be doing and what kind of life will you be living in five years from now?

Sketch your "five-year vision" in your mind. Conceive the long-term future in a contextualized and figurative way, pull time into the present, and make the future lively and vivid. The clearer the picture, the better. This helps to specifically design the way to implement the future from an implementation perspective.

Then, remember the picture in your mind, preferably write it down, and permeate this desire "subconsciously". That is to say, "You must do it anyway!" As long as people have this firm will, the wish will turn into action, moving in the direction of realizing the wish, and that scene is likely to become a reality.

However, this has to be a strong desire, not a random thought. "No matter what, no matter what, it must be like this!" This kind of wish or ideal supported by a strong idea can truly be "unforgettable and must have an echo".

It is not enough to have a direction and a strong desire to move forward, but also to do our best and make as much effort as anyone else. If there's any difference between working hard and trying your best, it's that when you try, you feel like you've done your best. When you try your best, you feel like you're not working hard enough.

Whether it is in daily life or in the workplace, we must project ourselves into the future, look back at the present position from the future, use the future to determine the current actions and shape the current state. Only in this way can you get closer and closer to your future self.
