Frequent job-hopping, the salary will jump higher and higher? If you don't understand this truth, it's all bullshit

My friend Lao Zhang is 35 years old this year. His work ability is not bad, but his income has been tepid.

Lao Zhang has such an attitude towards work: no matter which unit he works in, he will definitely quit after working for a maximum of three years.

I was surprised by this, so I asked him curiously: "Old Zhang, didn't you do a good job in your last company? Seeing that the company is going to give you a promotion and a raise, why do you want to change jobs?"

Lao Zhang replied with a disapproving expression: "I don't want to work for a salary increase. You don't know how "wonderful" that company is. It's not bad for me to persist there for a year."

Later, Lao Zhang and I talked about his specific work situation in the previous company. I finally figured out why Lao Zhang has worked for more than ten years and his income is still so unstable. In fact, this has a lot to do with his frequent "job-hopping" connect.

  1. Job-hopping won't solve your interpersonal problems

Under normal circumstances, job-hopping is nothing more than two purposes, either for a higher salary, or the atmosphere of the original company is not suitable for you.

I analyzed Lao Zhang's job-hopping situation, and found that most of Lao Zhang's motives for job-hopping are due to the company atmosphere. For example, his leadership and management skills are too poor, he will abuse employees at every turn, or he can't get along with his colleagues, and he doesn't like each other.

In short, it can be bluntly said that Lao Zhang jumped jobs to "escape" difficulties. He always wanted to find a company that would allow him to work "comfortably" without worrying about the company's atmosphere all day long.

But does such a company really exist in the world? Of course it can't be. After all, "where there are people, there are rivers and lakes". When everyone gathers in the workplace, it is nothing more than to make more money, and to use various means for the sake of profit. You can only make yourself "smooth" and understand the world.

Lao Zhang couldn't understand this truth, so he changed jobs at every turn, hoping that he could find a company that was like a "paradise" and had no disputes to work for. However, every time Zhang changed jobs, he would start all over again. How could he be able to compete with those senior veterans? employees? So the salary is naturally not high.

Second, frequent job-hopping will cause your ability to keep up

Young people who have just graduated, their purpose is often to improve their abilities. As the saying goes, "more skills don't overwhelm you". In this era of rapid social development, it is always right to learn more skills. Therefore, these young people will switch jobs every now and then, hoping to learn a variety of different skills in different companies.

However, they didn't realize that they had made a fatal mistake: "Eating more than you can chew". If you want to learn everything and want everything, unless you are a genius out of ten thousand, you will definitely end up with a "half bucket of water" ending.

On the surface, they seem to be able to do everything, but in fact they are "broad but not precise", and they have no real ability to shoot. The fundamental reason is that they change jobs too frequently and do not know how to settle themselves, which will naturally lead to their ability to keep up.

  1. How often is the best time to jump ship?

If you are a young person who has just graduated, then I suggest you determine your goals as soon as possible and make career plans, so that you can grow up as soon as possible. After you have decided on the direction to move forward, choose a company you like to join. Unless there are special circumstances, it is best to stay in this company for three years before changing jobs.

why would you say so? The reason is very simple, because you have just graduated and do not have rich workplace experience. If you change jobs for a higher salary, your ability and experience at this time will not make the boss think that you are worth a higher salary. As a result, you just change jobs. It's just work at home, and everything has to be restarted and re-adapted, wasting unnecessary time and energy.

However, when you change jobs after three years of experience in a company, you already have the "capital" to negotiate with the interviewer and boss, and your salary will naturally rise.

If you are a middle-aged person with rich career experience, then when you feel that you have reached a "bottleneck" in the unit, there is no room for improvement, and it is difficult to develop further, then you can consider changing jobs.

Some middle-aged people may say that it is risky to change jobs, and they want a stable job. You have this view, and I can't say you are wrong, because everyone has their own aspirations. But if you want to make your family happier and have a better life, then I think even middle-aged people have to fight again.
