Received an offer, but the company said it would not recruit people, how deep is the pit of finding a job

Last night, a friend Xiao Zhang called me in the middle of the night to complain, saying that he was doing well at work, and a large listed company called him, and the scale of this listed company is also a well-known leading company in our local area. It simply means poaching. After a lot of lobbying by HR, my friend was tempted and decided to go for an interview. If you pass the interview, you can just change jobs. If you fail the interview, you can pretend that nothing happened.

Interviews in large companies are still relatively cumbersome, and after three rounds of interviews, they were still recognized by the company. In the negotiation of the entry time, Xiao Zhang also expressed the regulations of his original job, which took 30 days, and he also needed that long to hand over the job clearly. The reply from HR over there is that you can wait for 30 days and place an OFFER.

But I never expected that, less than a week later, when Xiao Zhang's resignation report had entered the process state, he received a call from the other party's HR, saying that the position was no longer recruiting. After repeated questioning, it turned out that the employee in the position of the listed company was going to resign, so he was in a hurry. Later, the employee who was about to resign was retained, so Xiao Zhang was pushed. This is all right, the resignation report of the original work unit has been submitted, and the general manager has also signed and agreed, but the new job has disappeared because of this matter, and Xiao Zhang has entered the industry where he is unemployed at the end of the year.

In fact, Xiao Zhang's case is not an occasional case, and similar things are not uncommon. I have also heard of many companies that have recruited through various rounds of interviews, and after passing through some adjustments in the company or some changes in manpower, some positions have been cut off. But it is really too much to release pigeons after the offer has been made. What are the effects of such behavior?

First, the behavior of this listed company is obviously illegal. The company has issued an OFFER, which has constituted a contract. If the company repents at this time, it is a breach of contract, and it must compensate Xiao Zhang for his losses. Xiao Zhang should actively apply to the labor arbitration institution for arbitration and demand compensation from the other party.

Second, for a well-known listed company, such behavior obviously damages the corporate image. If a company goes back on its promises and arbitrarily unilaterally "tears up" the OFFER, it also shows that the company is not a good product. If you're still retaining a departing employee and you haven't determined that you need to recruit, you should make it clear to the job seeker. Now that you have gone through all the interviews and an OFFER has been issued, you should fulfill the agreed terms, and because the changes in your company have caused losses to job seekers, it is obviously a company with no integrity.

Third, I am very sympathetic to the HR of this company. I believe that HR is helpless and disgusting when executing this order. When I heard it, I was surprised, and I couldn't bear it when I executed it.

I am sure that the corporate culture of this company must be very bad, so I also comfort Xiao Zhang, even if I go, I may not be able to integrate into such a company. Good companies are the same, and bad companies have their own pitfalls. For companies that are so casual about job seekers, will they respect their employees? In China, most of the so-called corporate values are the boss's values. It can reflect that the boss has no respect for the employee at all, and he doesn't know what he will be abused if he goes in. Feel free to not go, but actively look for a company with a sound corporate culture and system after the year.
