The 'hateful' leaders in your eyes

Introduction: Some leaders are particularly "disgusting", stern and nit-picking, all kinds of inhumane, but as leaders, in fact, they must have merits.

Some time ago, I was having dinner with a classmate, and she was working in the pedestrian line. This is the work place that financial practitioners like me talk about and envy at the same time. Unexpectedly, after the whole meal, my classmates have been vomiting bitterly.

It is said that the leader requires overtime all day long; that the leader is stubborn and never listens to their advice; When it comes to leadership, classmates are always gnashing their teeth, thinking that all mistakes are the fault of the leader. She also said that she planned to apply for a change of office next week, and she never wanted to talk to this leader again.

I believe that for people in the workplace, especially newcomers in the workplace, the focus of work complaints, in addition to salary, the second place is estimated to be "those hated leaders in the eyes".

There is a saying that hateful people must have pitiful things, but I think hateful people also have merit. I have been on the job for two years, and I have changed positions in half a year, so I have come into contact with many large and small leaders. And "those hated leaders in your eyes", in my eyes, are actually like this.

01 Although he is picky, he can't get along

During my secondment to Guangzhou for half a year, most of my daily work tasks were arranged by the section chief, and I did not have much direct contact with the division chief. At the end of each month, I need to assist the department in making attendance statistics for the previous month.

Once the attendance statistics process was submitted to the head of the division, he could not approve it and returned it. The section chief and I have looked at the statistics table several times for this, but we can't find the reason. After going back and forth twice like this, in the end, the director only glanced at the dense attendance sheet, and found that it turned out that the attendance on May 31 was not counted, and the lack of days caused the system to reject it.

Another section chief, I occasionally need to prepare some official documents for his approval. He is very busy with his daily work, and he has to review a lot of business documents and materials every day. But every time he reviewed the manuscript, he would carefully consider whether to use a semicolon or a comma for punctuation. Although sometimes the manuscript needs to be revised many times, the manuscript that has basically been reviewed by him will not be rejected when submitted to the office.

"Those hated leaders in your eyes" will have more than twice as much work than us anyway. But under this kind of work intensity, they are still keen-eyed and never let it go. He is very attentive to every document and every job at hand, and he can always see through the problems we can't find and find the reasons why we can't.

02 He is strict but communicates efficiently

After work, it is often found that in a high-speed enterprise, between departments and between various lines within the department, meetings need to be held to promote work due to various problems. But sometimes communication is inefficient, which can easily affect the progress of the work. Especially in discussion-type meetings, we often have a morning meeting, and what should be finalized is still not finalized, and what should be implemented is still not implemented.

But a president I know, because he is famous for his sternness, can't help but shudder every time he sees him, but no matter which meeting he holds, he never delays the end of the meeting.

When encountering a dispute between everyone, he will propose a compromise plan or point of view; when encountering a discussion direction that everyone has deviated from, he will mercilessly interrupt and bring the focus back to the theme of the meeting; when encountering practical difficulties, he can He solved it on the spot and immediately implemented the solution at the meeting.

The theme of the meeting, under the multi-party discussion, it is easy to deviate or disagree. But "those hated leaders in your eyes" can always grasp the key points, communicate efficiently, and become well-organized meeting moderators, so that discussions can be multiplied with less effort, and employees are happy without procrastinating.

03 Focus on "solving problems"

Those who have done projects know that the proposal, promotion, and launch of business projects involve a wide range of factors and there are too many uncontrollable factors. Therefore, it is not normal for the whole process to be smooth, and it is normal to delay or even die prematurely.

I know a project manager. Some time ago, she had a project that was originally expected to be launched in October. As a result, the technical transformation proposed by a third-party company was not implemented until August. The third-party company shied away, saying that the lack of help from the technical staff in the industry prevented his work from continuing. In fact, in the two months since the question was raised in June, the third-party company has never reported this issue to the project team.

It is only when the launch date is approaching that it shirks responsibility, and normal people will be furious. But in the whole communication process, the project manager did not focus on "who should be responsible for project delay", but on "how to solve the current problem?"

She immediately confirmed with the third-party company what technical problems still need support from the industry; whether the personnel in the industry can solve the technical problem expeditiously; how to speed up the follow-up work after the technical problem is solved to ensure that the project can be launched on time.

In a position, it is important to find problems. However, when encountering problems and emergencies, it is the performance of a mature workplace person not to be jealous of god-like opponents, not to complain about pig-like teammates, to take the initiative to take responsibility, and to find ways to solve problems.

Of course, I don't deny that I occasionally encounter some incomprehensible leaders and a leadership style I don't like.

But when you can't change the status quo for the time being (people who have the courage to resign or the rich second generation who don't worry about life can be ignored), as a professional, what you should do is not complain every day, don't think about work, and make the only job Happiness is built on Tucao leaders. Instead, you should find out the differences between others and you from each leader and colleagues around you, and learn the merits of others.

Finally, I wish everyone a good mood at work every day from today!
