Introduction: When entering the workplace, these things may not be told to you, but they are really important.

The picture comes from the Internet

  • Warm and just right smiles, cares and greetings are nothing but HR's soft business attire;

Every year, we accept many fresh graduates or newcomers to the workplace who have worked for less than a year. Although we have seen some newcomers in the workplace have changed two or even three jobs in the first year of work, we are still willing to give a chance and understand that students need to transition to the workplace.

HR will lead you to do team building, go through onboarding procedures, preach the work process, and talk to you, but there are some things or practices that may hinder your development. HR will not tell you, and you often make mistakes and small The details of the work will be seen by your team, your leader, and your mentor. It is simply summarized here, hoping to be helpful:

First: Picking three or four seems easy, but it will make you lose better opportunities.

Some students who have just entered the workplace are unable to do professional work and unwilling to do assistive work. For example: Why do I make meeting minutes? Why does this document ask me to deliver it, and why doesn't he do it? Newcomers to the workplace are always initially assigned trivial, entry-level jobs. For example, a sales engineer may be working on phone calls for the first three months. The difference between work and exams is that there may be only one standard answer to fill-in-the-blank questions, and during the invitation process, even if you use the same version of the language, each customer may have different responses. For the arranged work, if you refuse once or twice, or fail to complete it once or twice, it means that you have given up the opportunity for others to give you more important work.

Second: To suffer is to take advantage, pay more for small things, and get help only at critical moments.

There is an old saying that to suffer is to take advantage. When seven or eight people in the team go out for dinner, as a newcomer, please help pour tea and rush dishes. You can rest assured that old colleagues will not let you pay the bill, but basic etiquette and respect are still required. We often I see that many seniors in the workplace will also pour a glass of water for the left and right seats first. As a newcomer to the group, as a person who has just learned about the society, you should take the initiative to do this work, and only in this way can you better integrate into the group. Others such as assisting in ordering a meal, seeing that the water dispenser is out of water, helping to change the water, and so on. Do a little more on these little things, and you will get recognition at the beginning of the company at least a few steps faster than doing a project.

Third, active communication is a necessary condition for obtaining opportunities.

Lack of communication is more common among newcomers in the technical workplace. For example, they don’t understand the work process, they don’t want to understand the rules, they bow their heads and do it fiercely. For a new company or a new position, ask more, learn a little more, and the problem may be solved. Communicate more with colleagues and build up feelings between colleagues. When you make mistakes, it is possible to get help from colleagues. If you have not poured a glass of water for your colleague in your usual work, and you have not taken the initiative to greet someone when you see someone coughing, then why should others help you when you have something to do?

Fourth, relying only on work for 8 hours can only guarantee that you will not starve to death.

Don't blindly study the slash life of various online propaganda, first of all make sure that you do your job well, this is the foundation of your life. Newcomers in the workplace have a lot of room for improvement, and they need to be strengthened after get off work. For example, the assistant needs to make a PPT report, and his/her skills are not enough to complete the work. At this time, he/she should search for information online, read books, or seek help to improve his/her PPT production skills and typesetting ability. Here is just one example. When you encounter a similar situation, you can only hope to solve it during working hours. From a ideological point of view, it is a problem. If you maintain such a working state for less than a year, you will become a dispensable person in the team.

Fifth point: The following two sentences should not be easily said to colleagues, regardless of whether the other party is HR.

The sentences "I can't do this job" and "I'm leaving" themselves represent your mental activity and stage in this team, and also mean that the team may take corresponding measures against you. At the same time, we must understand that no one in the team is obliged to keep your confidentiality, and some words cannot be taken back no matter what they say. "I can't do this job", once you say it, it means giving up on yourself. When the team entrusts you with a job, it represents trust, and it is also an inspection and assessment. If a job can be completed, the team can rest assured to give you more work. A job is not started, that is, there is a fear of difficulties or a half automatic abandonment, whichever is the case, will make the team have a lower evaluation of your work responsibilities.

"I want to leave" is the same as "I want to break up" and "I want to divorce." It cannot be said easily. Once something is expressed, it will inevitably lead to cracks. The promotion of your position and level, salary increase, etc. will be considered again by the team.

If you are a newcomer in the workplace, you need to know many things that HR will not tell you, and your team leader is not obliged to tell you. Although you work hard, whether you work in the right way and whether you understand the hidden workplace rules will determine whether you can stand out in the fastest time and be recognized by the team and the company.
